Now I'll check the script syntax and run the physics headlessly. I want to confirm blobs circulate, merge, split, and stay inside the glass.

The simulation shows the cycle works: blobs travel from floor to top, sink when off, and merge and split (88 merges, 93 splits over the run). It also found a bug. Split children are placed without a wall clamp, so 28 frames had blobs slightly outside the glass. I'll move the clamp into a helper and apply it after splits too.

The lava lamp is in `[workspace]/index.html`. It's a single file with no external requests, and I didn't commit anything.
**What it does**
- **Scene:** a glass lamp with a metal cap and a base on a wooden desk, against a dark wall. The lamp's glow warms the wall.
- **Wax:** blobs heat near the bulb and rise, cool at the top and sink. They merge when their centers come close and split when they grow too large or occasionally pinch.
- **Switch:** a toggle on the front of the base, built as a real `role="switch"` button so it works with keyboard and screen readers. Turning it off stops heating, and the blobs sink and pool at the bottom. The light fades over about a second.
- **Phone fit:** the lamp scales to the viewport and the layout uses the viewport meta tag.
**Choices I made**
- Wax is rendered from a metaball field at 0.6 CSS px resolution and then upscaled. This keeps the per-frame cost low. The field is shaded from its gradient, so the blobs look glossy.
- Splits are triggered by size, not by stretching. That's a simplification. The pinch split is an occasional extra for variety.
- The blobs have a short merge cooldown after splitting, so they don't fuse straight back together.
**Verification and what's not verified**
- The script parses. I ran the wax physics headlessly in Node across three random seeds. Blobs cycle from the floor to near the top and back, and they sink when the lamp is off. Blobs merged and split many times, with no wall violations after the fix I made.
- I could not open the page in a browser in this sandbox, so I have not checked the visuals or measured the 60 fps. The per-frame work is about 37k field evaluations at phone size. That should be fine, but please check it on a device.
